Carnival 2012 "Britain is Great"

We will be awarding a new cup this year for the best decorated house in the village. This will be awarded on the field along with the awards for the floats.
Here is a summary of what is happening on carnival day:
12:45 Floats and walkers assemble on the Fleet
12:50 Judging of the Floats
13:00 Procession leaves The Fleet
14:00 Procession ends at the Memorial Playing Fields
16:00 Presentation of cups for best float, best walking group and best decorated house
The field is full of entertainment including games, stalls, bouncy castles and the train ride. MCC's Simon will be on the field with fun and games to entertain the little ones, and this year will also see the return of a traditional ale tent. There's a variety of food on offer accompanied by some musical entertainment. It's all shaping up to be another fun filled day for the whole family, we hope you will be able to join us.

Local Groups: How to get donations and stay informed
This year we have created two forms for groups to join the procession and apply for donations from the carnival. Both can be downloaded from here, details on how to return are on the form. The final deadline for the donation form is the 25th May, but an early return would be much appreciated.
If you represent a local group then would like to receive minutes of the carnival meetings? This will help you stay informed about the carnival and make it easier for your group to get involved. WE ARE A SELF-MOTIVATED, FRIENDLY, LOCAL GROUP OF PEOPLE WORKING TO RAISE FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS. WHETHER YOU CAN SPARE 2 HOURS A MONTH TO ATTEND OUR PLANNING AND FUNDRAISING MEETINGS, OR ARE JUST AVAILABLE FOR A FEW HOURS ON CARNIVAL DAY ITSELF - WE NEED YOUR HELP.
All our meetings start at 8.00pm and take place at the Stoney Stanton social club on Hinckley road.
